Frequently Asked Questions

What is Wynr?

Wynr is a school rugby prediction game where supporters predict match outcomes and winning margins for official school fixtures. Points are awarded based on accuracy, and leaderboards track performance across schools and communities.

Who can play Wynr?

Anyone! Learners, parents, old boys, staff, and supporters can all participate. Your profile type and school help place you into the correct leaderboards.

Why can’t I play the Predictor?

To ensure fair competition across schools, a minimum of 10 approved 1st XV fixtures must be loaded for your selected school before the Predictor is enabled. If your school does not yet meet this requirement, you can help by submitting missing 1st XV fixtures so we can onboard your full season.

Which fixtures can I predict?

You can predict fixtures involving your selected school. From time to time, Wynr may also feature special “Profiled Fixtures”. These matches appear for all users to predict, regardless of school. Profiled fixtures are clearly identifiable by their gold card on the Predict page.

How do Profiled Fixtures affect leaderboards?

Profiled fixtures impact only the Global Leaderboard. Predictions (or missed predictions) for these matches do not affect School or Type leaderboards. This keeps school-based competitions fair while allowing the wider Wynr community to compete together globally.

How does scoring work?

Points are awarded as follows:

What is the maximum score per match?

The maximum score for any single fixture is 5 points.

How is the Global Leaderboard ranked?

The Global Leaderboard ranks players using a percentage score:

Score % = Total Points ÷ (School Fixtures × 5) × 100

This ensures fairness even when schools have different numbers of fixtures and rewards consistent participation.

Do I have to predict every match?

You don’t have to, but predicting more matches gives you a better chance of improving your overall percentage and ranking.

Can I change my prediction?

Yes — predictions can be edited up until kickoff. Once a match starts, predictions are locked.

What happens if I miss a fixture?

You simply score zero points for that match. This affects your overall percentage but does not disqualify you.

Why don’t all schools have the same number of fixtures?

School rugby calendars differ by league and region. Wynr accounts for this by using percentage-based rankings rather than raw points alone.

Is Wynr affiliated with any school?

No. Wynr is an independent platform built for the school rugby community. School names and emblems are used for identification only.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Wynr only stores information required to operate the app and does not sell or share personal data.

How often are results and leaderboards updated?

Results are updated as soon as matches are completed and verified. Leaderboards update automatically once results are confirmed.
